Saying good bye

I believe most vintage sellers deal with this problem: parting with items they fell in love with. It's been  little over a year since I started selling vintage on Etsy, but I can't tell how many times a sale was bittersweet! This weekend, one of my current favorites was sold, and today is time to say good bye to the cute couple and the adorable dog in the picture below. I hope they are very happy in their new home!

  2. It is a wonderful moment captured here! We have the same problem selling items that were really personally loved.

  5. its a great piece. It happens to me to. I sell clothing (vintage sometimes) and some things I am about to pull down when someone buys them and can't say no.

  7. Oh I can relate! I'm SO fond of all my old photos I can't bring myself to part with them... this one, Oh I understand. But whoever bought it simply LOVES it and will treasure it. What a fascinating history this picture is having... lost long ago from it's original family and now on this extraordinary life adventure. It will take your fondness with it, I'm sure of that!

  8. Some things just grab a hold on ya....I put up some postcards from my personal collection. I was okay with that. Then I looked at some others, and they didn't make it to the "to sell" stack, and went back into the collection!

  9. I too feel a twinge of remorse when I sell treasured items. I just always say to myself, "There is more to found right around the corner."
