Task lamp

It's been a while since task lamps made a come back. I never tire of browsing them and seeing how people use this kind of lighting creatively in their decor. Here are some of my favorite images featuring task lamps, from the regular working desk light to some unusual uses, like in the kitchen or the bathroom.

To me, a task lamp is even more charming if it is a vintage piece, with a history and some rust of its own. And of course, Etsy would be my first option to get one of these lamps! Below are some of my favorites from great Etsy shops.

  1. I love task lighting and have since the sixties when tensor lamps were popular. I have two vintage architectural lights and a small drafting table which I use as a craft table. Love these features, great post!

  2. I have a really old gooseneck task lamp (at least I think it's a task lamp) that has a cage light attached to the end of it, and I'm pretty obsessed with it. It's totally different from the decor style in the rest of my bedroom, so I always get comments on it (but I'm not always sure they're meant to be compliments, haha). Anyway, I'll have to post a pic of it sometime!

Hope you have a great weekend!

  5. Oh, I love them too! Especially the old ones, of course. I'm really liking the brass one in your post, in the gray dining room. Gorgeous!
