Plates on the wall

Plates on the wall remind me so much of my childhood! I loved visiting my grandmother during vacations, and sit in her living room counting the plates on the wall, analyzing each one - color, pattern, size... She had a big collection, with beautiful and unique plates. Some of them are now mine, but I haven't figured out yet how to display them.

While looking for inspiration, I found some pictures online that really caught my attention and I decided to share them here. Oh, and by the way, if you are looking to start a collection, I just listed some beautiful plates in my shop, check them out here!

This little desk is so inspiring! I would be happy to work/study in this space! So soft yet full of personality!

I love the contrast between the wall and the plates in this picture. But what really made it a favorite was that all plates have the same shade of blue. Beautiful!

I like how colorful the plates make this wall. What a fun space!

Now this one might be one of my favorites! Lots of different colors and patterns making a very nice wall for this bar cart to stand in front of! Very nice!

My board for home decor on Pinterest has some other ideas I liked, here is a link to it in case you want to check them out! Are you on Pinterest too? Leave your username in the comments so I can follow you!

  1. Love these! I especially like the third picture where it looks like they are just floating along. I too have various plates laying around. Thanks for the inspiring idea & post!

    1. Yes, Tracy, "floating along" is a perfect description for the 3rd picture! It is very beautiful and I'm trying to convince my husband it's not only grandma that hangs plates on the wall! ;)

    1. It is, isn't it? Looks nothing like "grandma's plates on the wall", right? ;)

  5. What a great kind of collection to have - and from your grandmother? So special! :) I like the same photo you did most, and the one with the yellow wall.

A few years ago I saw a photo of a gorgeous collection of oyster plates, and since then I've been determined to get some of my own. But I have found them to be so difficult to come by! But it does make looking for them that much more exciting!

Can't wait to see what you end up doing with your plates!
